For hunters who want a traditional stand-based experience, we offer free-range deer hunting on two nearby Ohio properties. It's a different hunt from the preserve — wild deer, natural travel patterns, and the patience that goes with it.
The free-range package is offered by the week and includes lodging and meals at Walhonding Woods. You must provide your own hunting license and tags.
And if it isn't producing: if you're not having any luck and want to switch over to hunting inside the preserve, we will give you full credit for everything you have paid toward a preserve hunt.

A great funnel with lots of different deer moving through. Multiple stands already in place, a feeder, and a two-acre food plot with a box blind right in the middle of it.
Hardwoods, creek bottom and open field, with multiple tree stands set over feeders.
Free-range weeks are based out of Walhonding Woods, so you get the same accommodations and the same food as our preserve hunters — The Lodge and The Bunkhouse, three fully equipped kitchens, and a great room with a fire in it at the end of the day.
